My Kid’s Cooking Camp was a huge success this summer and so many of you (parents and children alike) were asking about another camp, so I decided to start a Kid’s Cooking Club!
I’ve changed the set-up a little bit. I’d like to keep class sizes to no more than 6 children per class so each child will be able to fully participate and the kitchen won’t get too crowded with little hands! I will also be offering special class times for home schoolers as well as a Mommy and Me class for the younger ones! Class times are going to depend on how many children I have sign up and how many classes I’m going to have to hold. All classes will be on Wednesdays. Right now the schedule I’m considering is:
Mommy and Me 9:00 -10:30
Home Schoolers: Noon – 1:30
Class #1: 3:30 – 5:00
Class #2 (if necessary): 5:30 – 7:00
Classes will run in 4-week Sessions, give or take where classes will fall closely to holidays. Sessions will be:
Session1: Ocober 19, 26, November 2, 9
Session 2: November 16, (no class on the 23rd due to Thanksgiving), 30 and December 7,14
NO CLASSES WILL BE HELD AFTER DECEMBER 14TH!
Session 3: January 4, 11, 18, 25
More session will be scheduled and posted after the start of 2012! When enrolling your child you will be enrolling them for the entire session. Payment for the entire session is due on the first day of the session unless other arrangements have been made.
The Mommy and Me classes will be for preschoolers…ages 3 and up and their Mommies. Children of any school age are welcome to attend the home schooler and #1 and #2 classes. Class placement will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please understand, there has been a high demand for these classes so please be sure of attendance if you book a session so as to accommodate everyone who would like to attend. No refunds will be given for missed classes during a session once a session has begun.
The location of the classes will be at my home in Heritage Landing. The cost per session is $70. The cost includes: Folder with lessons, recipes for all dishes made, puzzles and activities; all ingredients needed for the recipes and a gift for the student at the end of the session. Many of my Cooking Camp students have made the foods we prepared during camp again for their families and have loved it! Other kid’s cooking classes in our area charge as much as $50 per class! Kindercooks charges $100/week! This is an awesome opportunity for your children to learn a new skill, meet new kids in our community and be in a loving and caring environment all at the same time! We will be cooking and baking some really fun dishes while learning basic terms and techniques along the way.
I would love to begin classes on Wednesday October 19, 2011. If you are interested, please contact me at email@example.com and put “Kid’s Cooking Club” in the subject line.
Please RSVP no later than FRIDAY OCTOBER 14, 2011 to allow time for me to shop for items needed for class. Updates to class availability will be posted here on my web site under the “Kid’s Cooking Club” tab.
One mom of two previous Camp members wrote me on Facebook saying how wonderful it was that her girls were arguing about who was going to help make dinner that night. They were making a recipe they had gotten from Camp and both of them wanted to help! She said it was “music to her ears.” Imagine you kids actually wanting to help you in the kitchen! And chances are if your kids helped prepare the meal they’re more likely to eat it!
We had such a great time during Cooking Camp this summer too. Look under my Kid’s Cooking Camp tab here on my web site and check out all of the fun pictures and amazing foods we prepared!
Please remember to RSVP no later than Friday October 14th if you are interested in enrolling your child. And please feel free to tell your friends! I’ll do my best to accommodate everyone who is interested in coming!
Thank you and Happy Cooking!
